Description
The instructor aims to enhance the course contents by exploring three modules that will spark students' interest and facilitate their understanding of wireless innovations.
Module 1, known as "BU Antenna," begins with an introductory lecture. Afterward, students will embark on an engaging activity, exploring the Baylor campus to identify various antennas used for transmitting and receiving wireless signals. Encouraging creativity, students will document their findings through photographs and conduct online research to understand the applications of these antennas. The students' collected images will be compiled into a captivating slideshow, inspiring their curiosity about the pervasive nature of wireless signal transmission and reception in our daily lives.
In the subsequent modules, we delve into the intricate invention and commercialization process, aligning closely with real-world start-up endeavors. Here's an overview of each module:
Module 2: Invention of Technology - To keep students abreast of the latest technological advancements, the instructor will guide them in exploring articles from esteemed journals and conferences in relevant engineering fields. Through this process, students will gain exposure to cutting-edge inventions and be challenged to articulate their understanding using the foundational knowledge acquired during the course.
Module 3: Commercialization of Product - Building upon their comprehension of inventions, students will delve into the realm of start-up companies whose products are based on these breakthroughs. By connecting the products with their original inventions, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the journey from concept to commercialization. They will identify the market potential, feasibility, and strategic implications of transforming an invention into a successful product.
